Before you came forth from your mother’s womb, God knew you. He formed every part of you and He was the one that put you in your mother’s womb. The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5a (CJB), “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I separated you for myself.”
God placed His dreams, His purpose, and His desires inside of you. With the first breath you took in the world, He began painting a beautiful picture of your life; full of His dreams, purpose, and desires.
As you grew and came to know good and bad, you probably did what we all do, we basically walked up to God and said, “Give me the paintbrush. I’ll paint my own picture and no one else will tell me what to do.” The result? We make a mess out of the beautiful picture He was painting.
Today God is saying, “Give me back the paintbrush. I’ll fix all your mistakes. I love you very much and I’ll never give up on you. This is the reason I sent my Son, Jesus Christ, to come and die on that cross. I did it just for YOU.”
The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.” Romans 10:9 says that, “If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:13 (CEB) also says, “All who call on the Lord’s Name will be saved.”
Revelation 3:20 (TLB) says, “Look! I have been standing at the door, and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door [of his heart], I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me.”
God loves you and wants to be a part of your life. You are not an accident! You have a purpose. Why don’t you give God back the paintbrush today? It’s so easy to do. Take a moment and simply pray this prayer:
God in heaven, I know that I am a sinner and I need Your help. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that You raised Him from the dead. Jesus, right now, I open my heart and I invite you to come into my life and take control of it. God, I give back the paint brush and I ask you to finish the picture you started in my life. Jesus, You are my Lord and my Savior from this day on. Amen.
Now that you’ve given God back the paintbrush, here are some important things you can do to learn and grow in the Lord.
